Community Use of Amenities

The Lodge at Candler Hills and the Candler Hills Community Center are for Candler Hills Neighborhood Association residents and their guests. Clubs or social groups are required to verify resident ID’s for their events and anyone not holding a Candler Hills resident ID will not be permitted to participate in events or meetings without guest fees applying. The facilities may be booked for club meetings, special functions or other occasions for residents through the Lodge office. Exclusive use is not permitted, and access by other residents to the facilities will be permitted during such functions. Private use of the facilities by outsiders is not permitted.

Under no circumstances may community furniture or equipment be removed from the facility. Items may not be removed or placed on any facility walls without approval from management. Candles will not be permitted in any of the facilities. Storage cabinets, boxes and other club items may not be stored in any of the facilities without approval from management. It is the duty of whoever uses the facility to clear away all trash, and leave the room or rooms in a clean and tidy condition.
Any damages to the facilities are to be reported to the Lodge Office, 387-9508. If any such damage is due to the actions of a resident or their guest, repairs may be billed to the resident.

General Conduct

Appropriate social behavior and respectful treatment of others is expected of all staff, residents and their guests while using any of the amenity facilities. In the event of violations of any of the rules outlined by the management company verbally or in writing or behavior deemed inappropriate by the Management is strictly prohibited and revocation of privileges of the use of amenity facilities by the resident(s) or their guest(s) may occur. Respect and general consideration by all residents for all other residents and all users of the community should be exercised at all times.

Violations of inappropriate social behavior and disrespect of others include but are not limited to the following:

  • Unprofessional conduct such as abusive language or disrespect to staff, volunteers, residents and/or their guests or abuse or defacing of property;
  • Unreasonable disturbance or physical abuse or threat of physical abuse or verbal abuse towards staff, volunteers, residents and/or their guests;
  • Bullying, annoying or harassing behavior toward staff, volunteers, residents and/or their guests.

Management has the authority to take the appropriate action based on the violation and may use the following guideline:

  1. First violation will result in a letter of reprimand.
  2. Second violation will result in 30-day loss of privileges.
  3. Third violation will result in termination of privileges.

The Lodge at Candler Hills Pool

Hours: Monday thru Sunday 9:00 am – dusk

Pool rules are for your benefit and safety.

Non-compliance of pool rules will result in loss of privileges. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • Facilities are for use by Candler Hills residents and their guest(s) only, and resident I.D.’s are required.
  • Food, and beverages in approved containers,, and coolers, are allowed on the pool deck, but must be a minimum of 4 feet from the edge of the pool.
  • No glass containers or animals allowed in fenced pool area.
  • Guest(s) under 15 years of age may use the pool from 12 noon to dusk, and must be accompanied by parent or resident.
  • During weekends and holidays, there are no time restrictions for guests under the age of 15.
  • Swim wear only.
  • Diaper age children must wear leak proof swim wear.
  • Bathing load capacity is 125.
  • Do not use the pool if you are ill with diarrhea and for two weeks following.
  • Shower before entering pool.
  • Do not swallow the water, it is recirculated.
  • No running, jumping, diving or horseplay in or around the pool.
  • No throwing of objects or littering.
  • No tobacco products, smoking or e-cigarettes at this facility.
  • Water wings, noodles and infant flotation device are allowed, but please no tubes, rafts or inflatables.
  • Exit pool at first sign of a thunderstorm.
  • Be safe, responsible, and considerate while using the pool.
  • No abusive language, loud radio or excessive noise.
  • Pool will be closed on the last Wednesday of the month for cleaning.
  • Pool operator may close pool at any time due to unsafe conditions.
  • Pool will not open if the high temperature for the day is not expected to reach 60°.

Candler Hills Pool

Pool is open to all residents and guests from 9:00 a.m. to dusk. Guests under the age of 15 are permitted in the pool from 12:00 p.m. to dusk. During weekends and holidays, there are no time restrictions for guests under 15. The Candler pool & spa will be closed for cleaning the 2nd Wednesday of the month – stated in rules.

Candler Hills Pool Rules

Hours: 9 a.m. to dusk

Swim at your own risk; no lifeguard on duty.

  • No alcoholic beverages allowed on pool deck.
  • Pool is open to all Candler Hills residents and their guests.
  • Guests under the age of 15 are permitted in the pool from noon to dusk only when accompanied by a resident or parent.
  • During weekends and holidays, there are no time restrictions for guests under 15.
  • Children in diapers must wear swim diapers or Little Swimmers.
  • Remove any oils or lotions by showering before entering the pool.
  • No running, jumping or horseplay in or around the pool.
  • No throwing objects or littering.
  • Plastic water bottles are allowed
  • Food, drinks, smoking, glass containers and pets are prohibited in pool and on pool deck.
  • For your safety, please exit the pool during thunderstorms.
  • Water wings and noodles are allowed, but no tubes, rafts or inflatables.
  • Diving is prohibited.
  • Bathing load is 55 persons.
  • The pool will be closed for cleaning the second Wednesday of the month.

Candler Hills Spa Rules

Hours: 9 a.m. to dusk

Swim at your own risk; no lifeguard on duty.

  • Shower before entering.
  • Food, drinks, smoking, glass containers and pets are prohibited in spa and on deck.
  • Bathing load is 10 persons.
  • Children under the age of 12 must have adult supervision.
  • The spa will be closed for cleaning the second Wednesday of the month.

Kitchen

The kitchen is available for usage through bookings in the Lodge office. A deposit is required when booking the kitchen or serving of food in the facility. This deposit is refundable after the event and kitchen has been cleaned and back in an orderly and neat manner.

Please ensure all equipment is turned off at the end of the event. Remove all trash from cans and discard in the dumpster.

Wipe down countertops, carts and any other surfaces that was used during the course of your event.

Dishes are available for your use. However, a dishwasher fee is required. If any dishes shall break, you will be responsible for a replacement fee.

All food shall be removed from the kitchen once the event is over. Anything left in the refrigerator or freezer, will be disposed of at the end of the day.

Rules and Guidelines for Hosting an Event

(At Any Candler Hills Facility)

The following Facility Policies and Procedures apply to all events held at all Candler Hills facilities, however the terms and conditions of each contract may vary, and the specifics defined by your Facility Agreement supersede all other statements.

Facility Request Forms

These forms can be found in the Recreation Center. Prior to utilizing any of the facilities at On Top of The World Communities, a Facility Request form must be filled out and approved by the recreation office. The white copy of the form will be retained by the Recreation Center Office and the yellow copy is provided to the resident and should be with the resident when utilizing the room/rooms at On Top of The World. Should a challenge be made by another over the use of the room/rooms, the resident will be able to demonstrate the right to use the facility through the approved yellow copy of the form.

With the increase in the demand for the use of rooms, reservation minimums do apply. Reserving rooms at any facility requires a minimum of 10 people to utilize the room in order to book it.

Room/rooms booked for events such as weddings, showers, birthday parties or anniversary parties may only be reserved for a resident or a resident’s immediate family which may include spouse, mother, father, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, brothers and sisters. Please note, no religious services are allowed within On Top of the World Communities, Inc. facilities.

Building Property

All building equipment and supplies assigned to a building are the property of said building and may not be moved to another building. This pertains to but is not limited to AV Equipment, tables, chairs and any other equipment or supplies that were purchased for the building.

Catering & Alcoholic Beverages

A Food Service Fee will be assessed when utilizing any of the community rooms when food is involved for any event, whether it is catered, potluck or brought in from take out locations such as Lee’s or Publix. The Food Service Fee will be applied as follows:

1-100 $50.00 $50.00 Refundable
101-200 $100.00 $100.00 Refundable
201+ $200.00 $200.00 Refundable

The fee may be fully refunded if rooms and facilities are left as described below.

  • Totally cleaned up – tables wiped, chairs replaced, no food or other trash on floor.
  • Garbage is bagged and placed in dumpster.
  • No spills, which would require additional clean up or carpet cleaning.

The fee will not apply to events catered by Friendship Catering, as they will be responsible for cleanup.

There are no BYOB events allowed at the Recreation Center Ballroom, the Arbor Fitness Center, the Arbor Conference Center, and Circle Square Cultural Center. If you are requiring alcohol for your event please contact the On Top of the World Hospitality Division. No alcohol may be consumed unless purchased from license holder.

Cleanup

No items may be stored overnight without prior consent of the Recreation Center Office. Any non-approved items left after an event will be regarded as trash and removed. For areas left in disarray, a clean up fee may be assessed and billed to the resident responsible for the room reservation. Rooms should be left in the setup according to the room schematic located on the wall of each Arbor Conference Center Suite. The Recreation Center Ballroom schematic is hanging on the wall by the ballroom doors.

Delivery

Items for the event may not be delivered to any of the facilities prior to the contracted event date. The Recreation staff is prohibited from loading/unloading, moving, or conveying any deliveries, equipment, or decorations.

Equipment

Daytime Meetings: All facilities are limited to minimal meeting equipment. The resident should arrange all audiovisual equipment, as well as additional equipment rentals, that the Recreation Office does not provide. The resident’s contracted vendor or the resident must set up any additional equipment.

All Other Events: The Recreation Office does not provide any equipment for events.
